Curd rice or thayir sadam in tamil is one of the Indian dish which made of two main ingredients only which is rice and plain yogurt. It can be garnished with curry leaves, coriander leaver, mustard seeds fried in oil and chilies. To make it more flavorful, fresh green grapes, ginger, dried grapes and so on can be added into the curd rice. However, it will taste the best if eaten with cut mangoes mixed with salt and chili powder, pickle or sauteed vegetables.

A traditional dish such as curd rice, it is labelled as the treasure of South India and it is cooked with very simple ingredients, bland taste but this dish will be cherished like a king’s meal. Curd rice is respected in various culture just like lord Vishnu, the second God of the Hindu triumvirate. It also fondly known as dhadhyonnam, dahi chawal, moru saadham, dahi baath, thayir soru, thachchu mammam, bagalabath and so on.
