Did you know that when we’re visiting the restaurants in the capital of Mainland China, Beijing, the most common and recommended dish you can find from the menu book is Roasted Peking Duck. A little bit of the history, this dish had existed for over 600 years since Ming Dynasty where famous cooks from all over China travel all the way to Beijing to cook for the Emperor.

Curious how it taste like? From what you’d seen, thinly sliced roasted peking duck served with sliced cucumber, scallions, sweet sauce and warmth popiah sheet. When everything pop into the mouth, the sweetness from the sauce, crispy duck skin and refreshing vegetables will create a magical and wonderful combination for all these ingredients.

Here is the good news for my fellow readers, Roasted Peking Duck is now available in one of the well-known Chinese Restaurant in Malaysia, which is Village Roast Duck. There are few outlets located in Malaysia, first outlet opened in Bangsar Village Shopping Centre and they discovered great customers responses which leads them to open other outlets in The Gardens Mall, Pavilion KL and Sunway Pyramid.
My first visit was with my parents at The Gardens Mall, Mid Valley. A well-mannered staff brought us to our table and immediately we were served by a bowl of hot duck soup as appetizer. The soup taste so refreshing and aromatic as it is cooked by numerous duck bones.
After we ordered our food, only we had time to observed the surrounding in the restaurant. The restaurant is filled with separable tables and chairs, employees were dressed neatly and well-trained and the most important is the dish served were exactly what were shown in the menu. This is the reason why we love to visit this restaurant very often. For dessert part, a small portion of herbal jelly will be served before we pay for our bill.

Out of so many dishes throughout our visits, I am extremely impressed on both of these dishes. Both of these are highly recommended by the restaurant itself and also at the same time by me myself. Curious about what are the names of these dishes? First picture would be ‘Seafood Cantonese Fried Hor Fun (Kuay Teow)’ and the following would be ‘Hokkien Fried Noodles’.
My fellow readers, this is a must-try dish because all of the ingredients in the dish are very fresh especially the ‘Seafood Cantonese Fried Hor Fun (Kway Teow)’. The prawns, squids and scallops served with fried kuay teow and egg gravy is the best combination of all.
For the ‘Hokkien Fried Mee’, Malaysian first impression for this dish would be ‘black’ as all the ingredients you can see from this dish turns black after cook. Besides, it also labelled as Malaysia’s special unique noodles which attract tourists and locals. Few common ingredients could be discovered, pork and cabbage slices, prawns and crispy lard served with yellow Hokkien egg noodles and black thick soy sauce.

There are few more dishes which you can try out in this restaurant. There are a lot of selection such as home cook dishes, noodles, fried rice, beverages and desserts. Feel free to drop by this restaurant and have a bite of their food. You will not regret.
